CDSCO Drug Compliance Mapping
Led a data-intensive compliance initiative to ensure that every drug listed on Tata 1MG's platform had CDSCO (Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation) approval.
The exercise involved scraping CDSCO's database and systematically mapping Tata 1MG's internal salt database against official regulatory records.
Collaborated with the catalog, category, and warehouse teams to execute safe removal of non-compliant listings.

The Challenge
- CDSCO's database was not available in a clean, machine-readable format, this required scraping and normalisation before mapping could begin.
- 6,000+ salts needed to be individually validated, with FDC drugs presenting additional complexity.
- Removal of non-compliant listings had downstream operational impacts across fulfilment centres and retail stores.
The Approach & Solution
- Scraped and structured CDSCO's regulatory database using Python, creating a clean mapping reference.
- Performed systematic salt-level matching across 6,000+ entries, flagging salts with no corresponding CDSCO approval.
- Collaborated with the catalog, purchase & planning and compliance teams to validate flagged salts and execute safe removal.
- Established a post-exercise review pipeline for all new salt additions, embedding CDSCO approval as a mandatory compliance gate.
