State-Wise SKU Restriction & High-Risk Drug Access Control
Led the design of a geographically-sensitive SKU restriction system, enabling Tata 1MG to block the sale of specific medicines in states or pin codes where they carry heightened abuse potential or regulatory sensitivity.
Simultaneously implemented employee-level access controls in warehouses.

The Challenge
- CNS drugs and other abuse-potential medicines have state-specific regulatory restrictions that could not be handled by a blanket national policy.
- Platform-side restrictions needed to be enforced at the pin code level — requiring granular geolocation logic in the ordering flow.
- Warehouse-level controls required operational redesign.
The Approach & Solution
- Defined the restriction logic for 70 salts across state and pin code dimensions.
- Implemented maximum unit-per-order caps for high-risk drugs at the user level.
- Designed warehouse access control protocols — restricting physical dispensing of high-risk medicines to designated authorised staff.
