YouTube Content Production Tracker
- •Identified the absence of a structured tracking system for Tata 1MG's video content production pipeline and led the scoping, design, and delivery of a purpose-built tracker.
- •The tracker covered all stages of the video production lifecycle: ideation, agency briefing, shoot scheduling, post-production, review, and publication.
- •Built dashboarding layers to surface key production metrics.
The Challenge
- Multiple videos were being produced simultaneously each week with no centralised tracking — leading to status ambiguity, missed timelines, and lost context.
- No structured mechanism existed to scope new video ideas or track the reasons for video scrapping.
The Approach
- Documented the full video production process from agency brief through to live publication.
- Built a dashboarded view covering: videos in production, published, scrapped, and reason-for-scrap analysis.
- Designed the tracker to make new idea scoping intuitive.
- Handed over to the YouTube team and now in active production use.
Results
Tracker adopted as the production standard for Tata 1MG's YouTube team.
Full pipeline visibility across all video statuses — in production, published, scrapped.
Scrap rate analysis enabled — enabling data-driven decisions on content direction.
